Electromagnetic metasurfaces: physics and applications

摘要

Metamaterials are artificially engineered materials whose optical properties arise primarily from their micro-structure ("meta-atom") and their macroscopic order. Metasurfacces are the two-dimensional versions of metamaterials, which have recently attracted considerable attention due to their unprecedented capabilities to manipulate the electromagnetic (EM) waves. In this colloquium, I will first briefly review the key developments of this new emerging field and then introduce some of our latest results on employing metasurfaces to control electromagnetic waves. Specifically, we will show how to realize a photonic spin-Hall effect with nearly 100% efficiency, how to achieve a surface-plasmon coupler that can excite surface plasmon polaritons (SPPs) very efficiently, and how to actively control the phases of electromagnetic waves with graphene-based metasurfaces.

报告人简介

周磊,复旦大学物理系教授, 1992年毕业于复旦大学,1997年获复旦大学博士学位,1997-2000日本东北大学博士后,2000-2004香港科技大学物理系访问学者,2004 年至今为复旦大学物理系教授。2007年获国家杰出青年基金,2009年获聘教育部国家高层次人才,2017年入选万人计划“中青年科技创新领军人才”,获2012年中国光学重要成果奖,宝钢优秀教师奖,上海市领军人才,上国家海外高层次青年人才秀学术带头人,上海自然科学牡丹奖,上海市自然科学一等奖,APS 杰出审稿人,OSA 青年科学家奖等荣誉。在电磁超材料、光子晶体等领域从事理论实验研究。发表论文130余篇,其中含1篇Nat. Mater.、6 篇PRL、1 篇PRX、2篇Nano Lett.、1篇Nat. Commun.、2篇Light: Sci. & Appl.等,1部专著(Springer)。论文总引5400余次,单篇最高引用 640余次。
